Source of Applications ͡ሗԸ๕
The increase in the number of applications is mainly as a result of ኪዝ൙Пࡈࣩʘᄣషd˴ࠅ݊͟ԸІ
increased numbers of “General Purpose” and “Teacher Registration ࡈɛʿዚԷνყኪࣧʿԃʕː
Purpose” applications from individuals as well as organisations such ʘɓছ͜ʿࢪൗ̅אࢪ໌
as international schools and learning centres in Hong Kong. These ͜͡ሗϞהᄣڗfவՇ၇ᗳۨٙ͡
two types of applications aim to facilitate applicants seeking further ሗϙίп͡ሗɛܵᚃආࡌʿίಥӋ
studies and employment opportunities including local teaching ᔖdܼ͉̍ήኪᔖЗf͉ήఱุ̹ఙ
positions in Hong Kong. The strong local employment market and ੶ۊd˸ʿ͉ಥܵᚃᓒ࢝ٙӷͭኪࣧޢ
the continual expansion of the private school education sector and йʿԃʕːd͵݊͡ሗᅰͦᄣ̋ٙᗫ
learning centres in Hong Kong are key factors that underpin the rise in ᒟࡡΪf
applications.
Level and Place of Award of Qualifications ኪዝʘબήਜ
The majority of qualifications assessed are Bachelor’s Degrees. ɽʱ൙П͡ሗٙኪዝމኪɻኪЗf್
However, the numbers of Master’s Degrees/Postgraduate Diplomas/ Ͼၾ̘ϋˢd൙П͡ሗʕ˴ࠅኪዝ
Certificates/Doctoral Degrees assessed had increased significantly ܓމ၂ɻኪЗeଉி˖ኯŊᗇࣣא௹ɻ
when compared with last year and this could be attributed to the ኪЗٙᅰ͉ͦϋܓᜑഹᄣ̋fவ̙ঐ
ability of the local economy to attract high calibre individuals to come ͉݊͟ήіˏ৷ኪዝɛɻԸಥʈ
to and work in Hong Kong. Ъٙࡡ݂f
The United Kingdom and Mainland China remained the two major ߵձʕʥ್݊ኪዝ൙Пਕʕ˴ࠅ
source countries of awards for our assessment services. The ኪዝબٙՇࡈ˴ࠅԸ๕f͉ϋ
numbers of qualifications from Taiwan has also grown significantly. ܓdԸІʕ̨ᝄٙኪዝᅰඎɰϞᜑഹ
The figures for Mainland China and Taiwan followed an established ᄣڗfʕձʕ̨ᝄٙ͡ሗᅰο͵Ϊ
trend where more and more graduates were returning to Hong Kong ͉ήኪ͛ଭุΫಥٙᅰο˚နᄣڗf
after their studies.
Enhanced Public Awareness of Qualifications ৷ʮ࿁ኪዝ൙Пਕٙ
Assessment Service Ⴉᗆ
HKCAAVQ continued to reach out to the community to enhance ίజѓಂʫdҢࡁᘱᚃၾٟਜટᙃd
public understanding of our principles and processes in conducting ˸̋੶ʮ࿁͉҅ආБኪዝ൙Пٙࡡ
qualifications assessment over the reporting period. Talks were ۆձҏʘə༆fҢࡁΣʔΝܵ΅٫d
held for various stakeholders including career masters, students ܼ̍ఱุܸኬϼࢪeኪ͛ʿڗᑘ፬ᑺ
and parents. More information is also made available for students ࢭiʿԶኪዝ൙П༟ৃЇᗫ͉ٙή
regarding qualifications assessment through study pathway ዚਗ਼Ϟᗫ༟ৃႡЪϓʃ̅ɿdމኪ͛
guidebooks etc. ԶϞᗫ༟ࣘf
