Appointment and Re-appointment of Specialists

The Specialists are appointed via nomination through the HKCAAVQ’s established networks, on the basis of their experience and expertise in relevant sectors and / or disciplines as well as in quality assurance and / or qualifications framework(s). They are initially appointed for a term of three years for a maximum of two consecutive terms.

Specialists’ Service and Code of Conduct

The Specialists serve on a voluntary basis. Their participation in accreditation exercises is subject to HKCAAVQ’s Code of Conduct including commitment to confidentiality and prior declaration of conflict of interest. The HKCAAVQ meets with the Specialists by sector / discipline to exchange views on the latest developments of the HKCAAVQ and the roles played by the Specialists.

Training of Specialists

To better prepare the Specialists to underpin the quality assurance works of the HKCAAVQ, and to continuously keep them up-to-date, briefings and interactive workshops are held on a regular basis and / or prior to each accreditation exercise. The HKCAAVQ keeps its Specialists updated with relevant quality assurance practices via its bi-monthly e-newsletter and the Specialists Website.
