Joint conference on enhancing the student learning experience

HKCAAVQ and the Federation for Self-financing Tertiary Education (FSTE) jointly organised a conference on the topic ‘Enhancing the student learning experience’ at PolyU Hung Hom Bay Campus on 17 November 2016. The conference was attended by more than 200 participants from the education sector and 24 teams of practitioners shared their work and views on enhancing the student learning experience in the concurrent sessions. The number of participants and submitted papers showed a large interest in the discussion of the conference topic and how to a ssure the quality of the student learning experience.

Professor Kai-ming Chen, Emeritus Professor at The University of Hong Kong, as one of the two keynote speakers, delivered a speech titled “Redefining Higher Education in a Different Era” to discuss the implications for education in general and for higher education in particular arising from the changes to the society and the economy. The second keynote speaker, Prof Beverley Oliver, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) at the Deakin University, shared with participants the current and future challenges of digital education such as the quality measures that can guide effective implementation of digital education.
