HKCAAVQ hosts QBBG Meeting 2017 in Hong Kong

The Quality Beyond Boundaries Group (QBBG) is a network of international quality assurance agencies that has been formed to address the growing quality assurance challenges and opportunities associated with cross border higher education. The Group meets every year, where members gather for a dialogue to seek opportunities for collaboration between member agencies, as well as developing innovative initiatives that could be made by such an international alliance to support quality assurance, consumer protection, student mobility and degree recognition.

This year, the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) host the meeting in Hong Kong from October 19-20, 2017. The theme of this year’s meeting is “Internationalisation of Higher Education in the 21st Century”.

Members of QBBG attending the meeting this year include:

  • Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) of Dubai
  • Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) from the United Kingdom
  • Committee for Private Education (CPE) SkillsFuture Singapore
  • Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ)
  • Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)
  • Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) from Australia

Other invited speakers include representatives from:

  • China Academic Degrees & Graduate Education Development Centre (CDGDC)
  • The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
  • School of Continuing and Professional Education (SCOPE), City University of Hong Kong
  • Savannah College of Arts and Design (SCAD) Hong Kong
  • The University of Chicago Booth School of Business
  • British Council from United Kingdom

Upon conclusion of the meeting, attending members agreed to work together on three issues in the future, which include academic integrity, quality assurance of online learning, and TNE student engagement.
