More than 120 guests gathered at World Trade Centre Club in Causeway Bay on 19 September 2018 for HKCAAVQ’s Annual Dinner, which was held to celebrate another fruitful year of success and achievements. The dinner was one of the important occasions for HKCAAVQ to meet collaborative partners, clients and other stakeholders in the education and training sectors, and to thank them for their continual support.

At his welcoming remarks, Ir Dr Alex Chan, BBS, Chairman of HKCAAVQ Council, shared HKCAAVQ’s achievements, new initiatives and insights to future development with attending guests. Dr Chan also highlighted HKCAAVQ’s strengthened support for quality enhancement of the Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) provisions, as well as contributions to the Government’s new initiatives in the development of HKQF.

This year HKCAAVQ was honoured to have Mr Kevin Yeung Yun-hung, JP, Secretary for Education, as the Principal Guest for the gathering. In his thoughtful speech, Mr Yeung shared with attending guests about various achievements and latest development of HKQF.  Mr Yeung was appreciative of the commitments and efforts made by many stakeholders, without which these achievements could not be made possible.

Mr Chan Ka-kui, Chairman of the Construction Industry Council, Guest-of-honor of the dinner, also addressed the gathering by sharing the particular role CIC has been playing over the years among professionals and practitioners of the construction industry in Hong Kong.  Mr Chan also thanked HKCAAVQ for the professional advice as CIC seeks continuous improvements to its wide range of training programmes.

The presence and overwhelming support from all key stakeholders contributed to the remarkable success of the evening and had made the Annual Dinner a memorable one.
