An Overview of QR Re-organisation: Re-classification of “Areas of Study and Training” and Incorporation of “Sub-areas” on QR

28 Jan 2016

HKCAAVQ will use a two-phase approach to implementing the necessary QR re-organisation arising from the re-classification of the 21 Areas of Study and Training into 14, and the incorporation of new sub-areas as follows:

  1. Phase One – Re-classification of Area of Study and Training

(a) Re-classification of all existing qualifications now published on QR from the existing 21 Areas of Study and Training to the new 14 Areas of Study and Training. All the existing qualifications will be searchable on QR using the new 14 Areas of Study and Training.

(b) HKCAAVQ will complete Phase One in the 1st quarter of 2016.

  1. Phase Two – Incorporation of Sub-areas on QR and Indication of “Quality Assurance” Status for “live” QR records (i.e. those with a “Current” or “Prospective” Registration Status)

(a) For easy differentiation and data retrieval and to facilitate the indication of sub-area on QR, HKCAAVQ will also incorporate in each “Live” record a “QA (Quality Assurance) status” in the QR internal operators’ interface.

(b) HKCAAVQ-accredited Operators and Appointed Assessment Agencies are to assign sub-areas under the new 14 Areas of Study and Training; and to incorporate “Quality Assurance” (QA) status for qualifications under “Current” and “Prospective” Registration Statuses in the QR internal operators’ interface.

(c) The Self-accrediting operators will assign sub-areas and incorporate QA status for their qualifications on a voluntary basis.

(d) The selection of “QA status” and sub-area(s) is inter-dependent. That is, the indication of QA status should be included on an individual QR record basis with indication of sub-area(s); and vice versa.

(e) HKCAAVQ will arrange for and complete the indication of sub-areas and “QA“status on QR for qualifications of HKCAAVQ-accredited operators in the 2nd quarter of 2016; and in the 4th quarter in 2016 for those from Self-accrediting operators.
