Inaugural meeting of Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation

The Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation Ordinance (Cap. 1150), which provided for the establishment of Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation (HKCAA) and the functions of HKCAA, came into effect on 8 June 1990.

The inaugural meeting of HKCAA, which was officially opened by the Secretary for Education and Manpower, Mr K Y Yeung, was held on 8-9 June 1990 at 14/F, Ruttonjee House, 11 Duddell Street, Central, Hong Kong.  Among the decisions made/passed at the inaugural meeting were: (a) the appointments of Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director, and three Registrars; and (b) the Register of over 500 Subject Specialists.
