HKCAAVQ invited to visit Hong Kong Jockey Club Conghua Racecourse

HKCAAVQ Council Chairman Ir Dr Alex Chan, Executive Director Mr Albert Chow and General Manager of Qualifications Framework Secretariat Mr Steve Lai were invited to visit Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) Conghua Racecourse located in Guangzhou, China. The delegation visit took place on 11 December 2018 (Tuesday), in which the delegation toured around to see the latest developments of the stables, tracks, equine hospital, farriers forge, horse spa and spelling yard at the site. The delegation also met with Mr Andrew Harding, Executive Director of Racing at Conghua Racecourse, Ms Christina Chan, Head of Human Resources Operations (Racing & Conghua) & Ms Amy Chan, Executive Manager, Racing Development Board / Headmistress, Apprentice Jockeys' School, and were pleased to learn about HKJC’s commitment and the progress made for the training facility.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Conghua Racecourse is designated for the training of Hong Kong’s thoroughbred racehorses, as a supplement of facilities at Sha Tin Racecourse in Hong Kong, which Hong Kong’s horses have been stabled and trained exclusively since the late 1970s.
