HKCAAVQ was invited by the Korean Skills Quality Authority (KSQA) to speak at the 2019 International Forum on TVET, titled ‘TVET: Open the Future’ held on 4 December 2019 in Seoul.
Dr Christina Ng, Head and Senior Registrar of Vocational and Professional Accreditation, as one of the speakers, presented on the theme ‘Development of Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) under HKQF’ at the Forum.
More than 300 participants in the vocational competency development field and training institutions from Korea and the region joined the Forum, sharing a common goal in exchanging views on measures to improve the quality of vocational training.
After the Forum was adjourned, taking the opportunity, the HKCAAVQ delegates met with the senior management of KSQA and Online Lifelong Education Institute (OLEI). Both parties exchanged their insights into the latest development of the TVET sector and future collaborative directions. On the way forward, HKCAAVQ and KSQA agreed to continue to foster mutual understanding on various topics related to quality assurance of education and training programmes, good practices on quality assuring online programmes.
At the invitation of KSQA, the HKCAAVQ delegates also held a meeting with the Human Resources Development Institute (HRDI) to better understand the oversight of the TVET development in Korea. A visit to two of the training providers, Korea Financial Investment Association and Multicampus, was arranged for the HKCAAVQ delegates by KSQA.
