The HKCAAVQ Council Dinner has successfully held at Dragon Gown Restaurant in Wan Chai on 14 September 2021.  Special thanks to our council members and strategic partners who attended this mini-scale Council Dinner to show their support and friendship with HKCAAVQ.  Most notably, it is to bid farewell to Ir Dr Alex Chan, BBS, Council Chairman and six Council members.

We are pleased to have Ms Michelle Li, JP, Permanent Secretary for Education, as the Principal Guest of Council Dinner.  Ms Li delivered an inspirational speech by appreciating the substantial works that HKCAAVQ has done in line with the evolving development of Hong Kong education and training sector.  To support the development of vocational and professional education and training (VPET), HKCAAVQ has participated in the review of sub-degree and development of applied degrees.  Ms Li also thanked Ir Dr Alex Chan for his great vision, committment and achievements made in the past 12 years of HKCAAVQ services.

Mr Rock Chen, SBS, JP, Council Vice-chairman, delivered welcoming remarks to the Council Dinner and recorded a vote of thanks to six Council members who have completed their terms of services.  Significantly, Mr Chen expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ir Dr Alex Chan, who has been serving in the Council for 12 years and brought tremendous contributions to HKCAAVQ and the public.  Mr Chen is pleased to see the close collaboration with different stakeholders in achieving the performance goals set in the HKCAAVQ Strategic Plan 2019-2023.

Ir Dr Alex Chan, BBS, extended his gratitude to Principal Guests and all Council members.  He recalled the challenges encountered during the office relocation from Taikoo to Siu Sai Wan.  Dr Chan especially gave thanks to Ms Michelle Li, JP for her support in relocation matters.  Last but not least, Dr Chan thanked for the support of the Council members as they have devoted their time and expertise to the development of HKCAAVQ.  All the wisdom and invaluable experience they brought had paved the way for the growth of HKCAAVQ.

To put a close to this memorable night, HKCAAVQ bid farewell by presenting souvenirs to Council Chairman Ir Dr Alex Chan, BBS, who is going to farewell us on 30 September 2021; three local members, namely, Ir Francis Cheng, MH, Professor Paul Tam, JP, and Mr Wilfred Wong, BBS, JP, who had joined the dinner.
