Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education (YCCECE) held its Congregation on 14 November, 2020 - the first time for the College to award Bachelor’s Degrees to its graduates. The Congregation also conferred Honorary Fellowships on distinguished educators in recognition of their remarkable contribution to YCCECE.

Like many others, teachers and students at YCCECE overcame hurdles thrown up by COVID-19 over the extraordinary year. While planned school events and activities were forced to halt amid the changing situation, over 100 graduating students from the Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Early Childhood Education, Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Diploma in Early Childhood Studies programmes, managed to get through the obstacles and challenges throughout the school year to complete their studies, adding special meaning to the precious congregation.

The College also conferred Honorary Fellowships on Professor Shen Shir Ming, Founding President of YCCECE; Professor Frederick Nicholas Ebbeck, Senior Academic Advisor, The SEED Institute, NTUC First Campus; and Professor Marjory Anne Ebbeck, Emeritus Professor of Early Childhood Education, University of South Australia.

Dr Chiu Sau-mee, Deputy Executive Director (VPET) of HKCAAVQ, was invited to attend the ceremony on behalf of HKCAAVQ.
