The HKCAAVQ Specialists Appointment Ceremony 2023 was held at The Mira Hong Kong on 22 August 2023. Newly appointed specialists and re-appointed specialists were presented with their Certificates of Appointment. Officiating guests included Mr Esmond LEE Chung Sin, JP, Deputy Secretary for Education of the Education Bureau, Mr Steve Lai, General Manager of Qualifications Framework Secretariat (QFS), Hon Rock CHEN Chung-nin, SBS, JP, Council Chairman of HKCAAVQ, and Mr Albert CHOW, Executive Director of HKCAAVQ.
Prior to the certification presentation ceremony, officiating guests first delivered speeches respectively. Mr Esmond LEE Chung-sin, JP, Deputy Secretary for Education of the Education Bureau extended his congratulations to the specialists being appointed. Mr LEE also gave appreciation to HKCAAVQ and counterparts in supporting the EDB and the Qualifications Framework.
Hon Rock CHEN Chung-nin, SBS, JP, Council Chairman of HKCAAVQ, represented HKCAAVQ to warmly welcome the specialists. Hon Rock CHEN expressed his gratitude to the joint efforts and devotion of all the specialists in acting as the gate-keepers of quality assurance of qualifications and programmes in Hong Kong. As 2023 marks the 15th anniversary of the Qualifications Framework (QF), Mr Steve LAI, General Manager of QFS also shared his positive outlook on the future development of the QF with the continuous engagement of HKCAAVQ specialists.
Currently, over 660 specialists with local and overseas from 14 areas of study and training have been appointed and are listed in the Specialists Register. About 130 specialists attended the Ceremony in person and received the Certificates on stage. Mr Albert CHOW, Executive Director of HKCAAVQ, gave a closing remark after the Ceremony to conclude the event, acknowledging the importance of the specialists’ involvement in the accreditation service and quality assurance.
