HKCAAVQ enters into the first MoU with BQA of the Kingdom of Bahrain

The Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) and the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA) of the Kingdom of Bahrain have successfully entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 14 April 2025. This inaugural agreement will foster collaboration for the mutual benefit of both organisations.

 

At the signing ceremony, Dr Maryam Mustafa, Chief Executive Officer of BQA, acknowledged the significance of this partnership. She highlighted that the exchange of expertise and experiences in academic and vocational education will yield significant benefits for students and learners. Dr Mustafa also conveyed her appreciation for the opportunity to strengthen BQA’s global partnerships through this collaboration.

 

Mr Albert Chow, Executive Director of HKCAAVQ, addressed that the MoU paves the way for meaningful collaboration, enabling discussions on mutual interests and the development of themed cooperative initiatives. He also emphasised the significance of this partnership in enhancing quality assurance in higher education and supporting the advancement of qualification frameworks in both regions.

 

The MoU was signed by Mr Albert Chow and Dr Maryam Mustafa, with Mr Oscar Chow, Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Bahrain in HKSAR, and Ms Esmat Jaffar, Deputy CEO of BQA, among others, in attendance. Dr Joe Hong, Deputy Executive Director (Academic), and Dr Sau-mee Chiu, Deputy Executive Director (Vocational and Professional Education and Training) of HKCAAVQ were also present to witness the signing ceremony.
