Regular Training Activities

For operators of learning programmes leading to local awards

To progressively develop operators’ competency in self-review, self monitoring, understanding of the QF and enhancement of their internal quality assurance capacity, HKCAAVQ runs training activities for operators on a regular basis. Operators that plan to undertake Stage 1 Initial Evaluation (IE) of their organisations and/or Stage 2 Learning Programme Accreditation (LPA) / Re-accreditation (re-LPA) of their learning programmes leading to local awards are welcome to enrol in the relevant activities.

Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of the briefing, participants are expected to be able to: 

  • describe the key features of HKQF
  • explain the different stages in the Four-stage QA Process,
  • Identify important characteristics of a good submission document.
  • plan for accreditation by HKCAAVQ, including but not limited to the preparation for a site visit
  • compare the possible outcomes of accreditation and follow up actions required

Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of the workshop, participants are expected to be able to:

  • state the accreditation requirements of IE and LPA of learning programmes at QF levels 1 – 3.
  • state the key characteristics of learning outcomes at QF levels 1- 3
  • apply the principles of assigning QF credits, and select appropriate qualification titles
  • pinpoint appropriate evidence to substantiate that the operator undertaking IE and/or the learning/training programme(s) undertaking LPA meet the required accreditation standards
  • self-evaluate the readiness of their institutions/organisations for undertaking IE and LPA

Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of the workshop, participants are expected to be able to:

  • identify appropriate evidence to demonstrate that the programme continues to meet the stated objectives and delivers the learning outcomes that meet the QF standards as determined in previous LPA
  • review the operation, management and delivery of the programme
  • evaluate the effectiveness of the implemented improvement actions
  • analyse data and information for  future planning and development of the programme

Seat Allocation

  1. Training places will be allocated according to the following priority:
    1. Operators who have already entered into Service Agreement with HKCAAVQ.
    2. Operators who have already submitted a Statement of Intent to HKCAAVQ.
    3. Operators who are new to HKCAAVQ accreditation. (Not applicable to the Workshop on Re-LPA)
    4. Operators with accredited learning programmes due for re-LPA in the next 12 months.
    5. Others
  2. In the event of over subscription, places will be allocated to registrants of the same allocation priority groupings on a first-come-first-served basis.
  3. HKCAAVQ reserves the right of final decision on the training arrangement, including allocation or non-allocation of seat.

Notes

  1. Workshops are to be conducted in Cantonese supplemented with Chinese teaching materials.
  2. Please follow the procedures below for registration:
    1. Complete the Online Registration Form.
    2. A training place allocation notice will be delivered to registrants within 3 working days after the deadline.
    3. Registrants should mail the bank-in slip/ crossed cheque/ bank draft to “Research and Training (RT), HKCAAVQ, 10 Siu Sai Wan Road, Chai Wan, Hong Kong” within a week upon receipt of our allocation notice. Failure of full payment by the deadline will be deemed to have given up their places. In such case, registrants will have to register again if they still want to register for the workshop.
    4. A confirmation email will be sent to participant within 3 working days upon confirmation of receipt of the full payment.
  3. Payment Method:
    1. Bank Deposit/ ATM Transfer: Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) Limited (Account no: 861-502-02007-3; Account Name: Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications)
    2. Crossed Cheque/Bank Draft: payable to “Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications”
    3. Cash and post-dated cheque are not accepted.
  4. For registration by post, HKCAAVQ will not bear any responsibility for any loss due to postal error.
  5. Remission of Registration Fee:
    1. ‘Briefing on HKQF & HKCAAVQ Accreditation’: Operators who are new to HKCAAVQ accreditation and has never sent representative (maximum 2 for fee remission) to attend the ‘Workshop on Preparation for IE & LPA’ before 30 June 2016 or ‘Briefing on HKQF & HKCAAVQ Accreditation’ after 30 June 2016 onward, can apply remission of registration fee for  the ‘Briefing on HKQF & HKCAAVQ Accreditation’.
    2. ‘Workshop on Preparation for IE & LPA (QF levels 1 – 3)’: Operators who are new to HKCAAVQ accreditation and has never sent representative (maximum 2 for fee remission) to attend the ‘Workshop on Preparation for IE & LPA’ before 30 June 2016 or ‘‘Workshop on Preparation for IE & LPA (QF levels 1 – 3) from 30 June 2016 onward, can apply remission of registration fee of the ‘Workshop on Preparation for IE & LPA (QF levels 1 – 3)’,
    3. ‘Workshop on Preparation for Re-LPA’: Remission of registration fee is not applicable for this workshop.
    4. Eligible operator who has not used up all of its entitlement may apply for waiver of registration fee by completing relevant parts of the Online Registration Form.  HKCAAVQ reserves the right to check relevant information from its internal database and/or request evidence from operators on their eligibility for a fee waiver.
  6. HKCAAVQ reserves the right to cancel or postpone a workshop.  In the event of such cancellation or postponement, participants will be notified as soon as practicable, normally at least five working days before the original scheduled date of the workshop, if circumstances permit.
  7. Fees paid are not refundable except under the following circumstances:
    1. event cancellation due to adverse weather;
    2. event cancellation due to insufficient number of enrolments; or
    3. full registration.
  8. Any refund will be made within two weeks of the scheduled date of the workshop and by cheque only; or, with consent of the registrants, used as the registration fee for the same type of workshop at a later date.
  9. Registration is non-transferable.
  10. If typhoon signal number 8 or black rainstorm warning signal is issued or expected to be issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at 7:00am or after, the full day session of the workshop will be cancelled; If typhoon signal number 8 or black rainstorm warning signal is issued or expected to be issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at noon or after, the afternoon session of the workshop will be cancelled. If typhoon signal number 8 is issued during a workshop, the workshop will be suspended immediately. Arrangement about the re-run or continuation of the remaining part will be announced as soon as possible.
  11. Photographing, audio & video recording are not permitted in the workshop.
  12. Workshop participants are advised to read the Guidelines on Four-stage Quality Assurance Process before attending the workshop.

Certificate of Attendance

  • Participants who attend the full workshop will be issued a Certificate of Attendance, except in the case of late arrivals and/or early departures. The discretion to issue the Certificate lies with HKCAAVQ.
  • The Certificate of Attendance will be distributed to the participants at the end of the workshop. Requests for any amendment to the certificate must reach RT, HKCAAVQ (email: [javascript protected email address]) within 14 days of the workshop. HKCAAVQ will not be responsible for any damage or loss of a Certificate sent by mail. A Certificate once issued will not be re-issued.
