The Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) is a statutory body responsible for quality assurance of academic and vocational qualifications to underpin the Qualifications Framework (QF). Senior Registrar [Ref: 2011/18/S]
Responsibilities:
As a senior staff member of the HKCAAVQ, the appointee will plan and lead complex accreditation projects of institutions, academic (local and non-local) and vocational programmes; undertake analytical and research work; provide expert advice on quality assurance; and supervise project teams. He/She will develop and maintain close liaison with institutions, government bureaux, professional bodies, and other stakeholders. The position offers an exciting opportunity for having key responsibilities for major projects, taking part in policy development as well as the development of the assigned portfolios.
Requirements:
We expect applicants to possess a sound academic background with a post-graduate degree comparable to HKQF Level 6 or above, and at least 15 years of post-qualification relevant work experience in the education sector or professional bodies. The successful candidate should have a good understanding of the education system in Hong Kong; experience with quality assurance work preferably in higher education institutions; proven management and leadership capabilities; strong analytical, project management and networking skills; and excellent written and spoken English and Chinese. Being proactive, reflective and independent is essential. Ability to speak Putonghua would be an advantage.

Initial appointment will normally be made on a two-year contract subject to renewal.
